Use of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter)

SOLAR-CONTACT takes the current discussion about data protection in social networks very seriously. It is currently not finally clarified in legal terms whether and to what extent all networks offer their services in accordance with European data protection regulations.

We therefore expressly draw attention to the fact that the services used by the city – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube (Google services) – store the data of their users (e.g. personal information, IP address) in accordance with their data usage guidelines and use it for business purposes. The city has no influence on the collection of data and its further use by the social networks. Thus, there is no knowledge of the extent to which, where and for how long the data is stored, to what extent the networks comply with existing deletion obligations, what evaluations and links are made with the data and to whom the data is passed on. Therefore, please use these media responsibly and only enter your personal data after reading the privacy policy of the respective provider. As an alternative to the social networks, you can of course still use our conventional communication channels, such as the website for information; e-mail, telephone, postal mailings for contacting us and making enquiries, etc.
